Forklift Training for Businesses Across Hampshire and Surrounding Areas

South Coast Forklift Training delivers ITSSAR-accredited forklift training at your premises, helping employers ensure operators are trained properly and in line with recognised industry standards.

Our courses are built around your equipment, your workplace, and the tasks your operators carry out every day. Training is practical, relevant, and focused on genuine operator competence in real workplace conditions - not simply passing a test.

We provide training across a wide range of equipment, including counterbalance forklifts, reach trucks, very narrow aisle (VNA) trucks, and pedestrian-operated equipment, as well as vehicle banksman training. Whatever your requirements, we’ll recommend the most suitable course and level of training for your operators and workplace.

All training reflects current UK legislation and recognised industry guidance, including guidance from the Health and Safety Executive (HSE). Courses cover key practical and theoretical elements including pre-use inspections, safe manoeuvring, load handling, and understanding truck stability and limitations.

By delivering training on-site using your equipment and working environment, we ensure minimal disruption to your operations while developing operators who are competent, confident, and able to work safely within real workplace environments.

Not Sure What Training You Need?

Most employers aren’t certain which course or level of training is right - and that’s completely normal. The type of truck, the operator’s experience, and the type of work involved all affect what training is required.

We’ll guide you through it. Tell us what equipment you use, what your operators do day-to-day, and whether they’ve had any previous training. From there, we’ll recommend the most suitable course and level to ensure your operators are trained correctly and in line with current guidance.

Tell us about your workplace and we’ll recommend the right training.

How Our Training Works

Training at Your Premises

All courses are delivered on-site using your own equipment and workplace conditions. This ensures operators and banksmen train in familiar surroundings, gaining practical skills that directly apply to your day-to-day operations. Every course is tailored to your business and delivered around your schedule to minimise disruption.

Facilities Required

We’ll need access to the equipment being used for training, whether that’s a forklift, pallet truck, or a suitable area for vehicle banksman instruction. A safe, undisturbed space is required for practical exercises, plus a small area with a table, chairs, and power for theory sessions. Operators must wear safety footwear and PPE in line with your company’s risk assessments; we supply high-visibility vests.

Accredited Certification

On successful completion, your business receives full certification for each trainee, including an ITSSAR-accredited certificate, photo ID card, and written assessment of performance - all included within the course fee.

Qualifications are recorded on the TOPS (Trained Operator Passport Scheme) database, providing clear, verifiable proof of training and helping employers maintain accurate training records.

This helps demonstrate that operators have received properly structured training delivered to recognised standards.

Practical Advice Backed by Industry Standards

Clear guidance to help employers choose the right training and maintain safe workplace operations.

Why Training Matters

Employers are legally required to provide adequate training under the Health & Safety at Work Act and PUWER, both of which make clear that anyone using or supervising work equipment must be properly trained.

Good training helps protect staff, reduce risk, and ensure operators can work safely and confidently within real workplace environments. Using accredited instructors also makes it far easier to demonstrate that training meets the required standard.

That’s why we deliver ITSSAR-accredited courses recorded on the TOPS register, helping employers demonstrate that operators have received properly structured training delivered to recognised standards.
